Today the Australian Government consists of Government departments and agencies, Governor General, Courts and Judges witch apply to all states and territories and is a constitutional democracy based on a federal division of powers.

The Legislature : Commonwealth Parliament – which consists of comprising the Queen who is represented by the Governor-General, the senate and the House of Representatives.
The executive: Federal Executive Council – which are the Prime Minister and Ministers of Sate
The Judiciary: High court of Australia and other federal courts.
