Making Friends
When starting school you will be surrounded by students studying similar subjects, by around the same age and most of the time have the same interests. This is a common basis that friendships are made. The most common places that you will find friends are your school, sporting or other types of clubs, religious groups, volunteer work, etc.
Your educational institution should have more information on extra curricular activities. It is easier to make friends if you smile and look interested. Talk to as many people as possible, you just never know what you might have in common with them.
Don’t try to force a friendship upon people, some people like their own space or may take longer to open up to people, take things slower and respect other people’s boundaries. If making new friends has proven difficult for you, then talk to your school’s guidance counsellor for help.
